When photographing people doing what they do and are good at—my years as a photojournalist enables me to focus on capturing the emotion that would be happening as if I wasn’t there.

I aim to photograph food and the people who prepare and serve it with as little manipulation to the subject and location as possible. Capturing images with the light that is provided is ideal but when not I am ready to bring in lights.

Letting the action happen naturally means understanding what people do and why. Staying out of the way is key.
